About The Breeds
Registered Toy Fox Terriers
My registered Toy Fox Terriers
are excellent pets for young and old. My girls all love to sit on
my knees for hours at a time. They are very affectionate and can
be very playful. They are not barkers but will let you know when
some one comes or something going on outdoors that may need your
attention. They can be trained to alert someone with a hearing problem
that the phone is ringing ore the kettle is boiling etc. They get
along well with other dogs and can be socialized easily. They don't
need a lot of exercise as they can get it just by playing and running
around indoors. In short they are an all around good pet. They don't
need grooming as their hair is very short and silky.
Chihuahuas
Are you looking for a companion
that is content to lie quietly in your lap or your side while you
read, watch TV etc? A companion that eats little and need little
space, who doesn't need to be taken out every day for exercise?
Then you may enjoy having a Chihuahua the smallest recognized breed
of dog in the world.
Chihuahuas are good watch dogs. They are courageous, and not afraid
in the least of larger dogs. A unique feature of most Chihuahuas
is the soft spot on the crown, similar to that of a new born baby.
They are descendents of the small dog called the Techichi from Mexico.
These dogs were kept by the Toltec people of Mexico in the ninth
century. The Techichi was crossed with a small terrier type dog
bought over by the Spanish conquistadors. Thus the basis was laid
for the even smaller modern day Chihuahua.
The name Chihuahua comes from the fact that these little dogs were
discovered in the state of Chihuahua in Mexico in the mid- 1800's.
They are indoor dogs, ideal for apartment living. They thrive on
much attention and human contact. They are hardier than you might
think. In fact they are one of the longest-lived breeds, living
well into their teens.
A true friend for life. They are highly trainable and an excellent
companion.
